Time for RYLA

Rotary Youth Learning Awareness (better known as RYLA) is looking to kick start its campaign.

RYLA 9820 is a three day residential program supporting and developing young leaders between the ages of 18 and 27.

RYLA recognises, encourages and educates current and future leaders through this intensive leadership training experience.

Mike McFarlane, past president of  The Rotary Club of Kew and an Assistant Governor will be the guest speaker at a special partners' night being organised by the Rotary Club of Yarram.

Operation Flinders

The Operation Flinders program has been operating for more than two years as a partnership between five clubs in the Latrobe Valley and energy provider Engie, perhaps better known as the owner of the Hazelwood electricity generation plant and associated coal mine.

The clubs involved are Traralgon, Hazelwood, Moe, Traralgon Central and Morwell. Their fundraising helps send two groups of young people facing problems to the Flinders Ranges each year for an outdoor adventure camp designed to set them challenges and help them learn the benefits of working together.

Yarram charity golf day

The Rotary Club of Yarram Inc will hold its very popular annual charity golf day on October 8, 2017 at the picturesque Yarram golf course, surely one of the prettiest in Gippsland.

The day, which will be in a four person Ambrose format for mens, ladies or mixed teams) will be at 10am for a 10.30am shotgun start. There is also a Ladies Only team event.

The deadline for submissions is the first week of the month with publication scheduled for the middle of the month.

Next month we hope to bring you some news about Foundation as well as updates on how clubs are going with their tree planting projects.
